Frock Around The Clock Vintage Fair
Thursday, 26 August 2010 13:54

fatcsept-imageWhat: Frock Around The Clock Vintage Fair

When: Sunday 26th September

Times: 11am to 4.30pm

Where: Holiday Inn, Ormeau Ave (Opp BBC) Belfast.

Tickets: £5 for adults, £3 for seniors and students.

Now a firm favourite on the Belfast events calendar, Frock Around The Clock Vintage Fairs are loved by Northern Ireland's fashionistas, stylists, designers, students and collectors alike. And with vintage styles being one of the richest sources of inspiration for Autumn/Winter 2010 fashion trends, the September outing of their Vintage Fashion & Textile Fair is sure to be a winner.

With designers recycling styles of the past for A/W 2010 we are all lusting for 1970s inspired high-waisted, chic flared trousers, 1950s/60s style architectural A-line dresses, retro leather fashions, camel coats, capes, pretty lace, faux fur and maxi dresses, so it is no surprise that us gals will be rushing to get their hands on vintage originals in a bid to stand out from the crowd.

Frock Around The Clock organiser Becky Moore says 'choosing original vintage pieces over vintage-inspired looks on the high street is the smart option for stylish women who want to follow trends but not the herd. Avoiding mass-produced fashions and opting for one-of-a-kind vintage pieces that reflect current trends is the best way to be fashionable but ensure that individuality is maintained, and to keep ahead of the game smart women mix and match original vintage pieces with high street and designer for a distinctly unique look all of their own. Frock Around The Clock has therefore become a hot destination for fashionistas from all over Ireland, putting Belfast well and truly on the vintage style map'.

The next Frock Around The Clock Vintage Fashion & Textile Fair takes place on Sunday 26th September at the Holiday Inn, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast. 40 exhibitors will be selling an unrivalled collection of vintage clothing, accessories, jewellery, vanity items, homewares, china, lace, dolls and bears, as well as handmade clothing, accessories and jewellery created from vintage textiles.

Live music will be provided by the Jenny Kallen Jazz Band and there will be a special appearance by burlesque troupe The Whistle Bait Babies. With retro hairstyling and make-up also available from Kelly McLean of Ashby Hair and Claire McEvoy Make-up, Frock Around The Clock is a veritable celebration of 20th Century Style.

The event runs from 11am to 4.30pm and admission costs £5 for adults and £3 for seniors and students (payable at the door). More information on this and all other Frock Around The Clock events can be found on the website www.northernirelandvintage.com
